Information We Collect

Device Information

We collect a unique device identifier to manage your subscription status and provide our service. This identifier is generated locally on your device and does not contain any personally identifiable information.

Audio Recordings

When you use Voicr to transcribe and rewrite your voice recordings:

  • Audio files are temporarily uploaded to our servers for processing
  • Audio files are sent to OpenAI for transcription and AI-powered rewriting
  • Audio files are immediately deleted from our servers after processing
  • We do not store or retain your audio recordings

Processing Results

Transcriptions and rewritten text are stored locally on your device only. We do not store any transcriptions or processed text on our servers.

Third-Party Services

OpenAI

We use OpenAI's API to process your audio recordings. Important information about OpenAI's data handling:

  • Data Storage: OpenAI may store your audio data for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring and safety purposes
  • No Training Use: Your data is NOT used to train or improve OpenAI's models. We have API agreements in place that explicitly prevent this
  • Zero Data Retention (ZDR): We use OpenAI's Zero Data Retention option where applicable, meaning OpenAI does not retain your data beyond the 30-day safety monitoring period

RevenueCat

We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions and in-app purchases. RevenueCat collects:

  • Device identifier
  • Purchase information from App Store/Google Play
  • Subscription status

Data Storage and Security

Your transcriptions, notes, and settings are stored exclusively on your device using encrypted local storage. We employ industry-standard security measures to protect data during transmission.

  • All API communications use HTTPS encryption
  • Audio files are deleted immediately after processing
  • No cloud backup of your transcriptions or personal data
  • Device-local encryption for stored data

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Delete all your local data by uninstalling the app
  • Request information about data we process
  • Cancel your subscription at any time through your App Store or Google Play account

Children's Privacy

Voicr is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

International Data Transfers

Your audio data may be processed on servers located in different countries as part of our use of OpenAI's services. We ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy.
